In 1980, President Greg Gracer incorporated Maximum Security, Inc. here in South Florida and began installing home alarm systems after a ten year journey working for other alarm companies in Michigan and Florida. Greg spent time from 1971 to 1980, building alarm circuit boards for an alarm system manufacturing company, trained as a central station operator, worked as an alarm company installation helper, junior installer and eventually a senior installer/service technician before venturing out on his own.

From 1980 till about 1983 Greg worked as President of Maximum Security, Inc. under the direction of a state licensed electrical contractor and finally in 1983 became a Florida state licensed low voltage alarm contractor on his own, qualifying the company under his own new state license.

In early 1985 Greg became actively involved with the Alarm Association of Florida, 1st as a local regional secretary, and graduated through the ranks until eventually serving as the State President of the AAF. in 2011.

False alarm prevention and discipline was the motivating force behind that involvement, with the AAF as it was becoming problematic to providing good service to our own customers with the false alarm situation across the industry.

Maximum Security, Inc. led by Gracer focused on learning the laws and protocol of business in the low voltage trade, always focusing on giving our customers very personal care.

Many parts of the Miami Dade Police Department’s ordinance were borne out of meetings with the police department and Gracer along with other local licensed members of the Alarm Association of Florida.

Gracer continues to provide voluntary education to The City of Pinecrest Florida in their False Alarm Prevention Classroom Program for the community.

During those years from 1985 to 1992 Maximum Security expanded and added several qualified and talented people to the team. In 1991 our Service and Installation Manager Pedro Mata joined our team.

Pedro or Pete as many of you know him by, began as a new helper in 1991 and accelerated to become a Junior installer and finally Service Manager and Installation Manager in only a few years, and today he continues to lead our company by handling most of the day to day operations.

Pete maintains a FASA BASA Certificate as required by Florida State law, and continues his renewed training certification on an ongoing basis. Additional voluntary training has also assisted Pete to gain considerable computer and internet education that have become more critical as this industry evolves from relays and switches to cybernetic and IP based protocol.

Pete’s training credentials and work ethic continue to represent our company in excellence.

Maximum Security Inc. grew aggressively until Hurricane Andrew hit south Florida and interrupted our business plan.

From 1992 to 1994 Gracer and Maximum Security merged efforts with Assured Security in Homestead, Florida, another company among many who were battling to recover from the effects of that great storm.

In 1994 Gracer left the busy business of alarm company mergers that were promulgated by larger investors and eventually began to recover his old customer base who were not happy with the lack of service being provided to them during these large company buyouts.

In 1994-95 Maximum Security, Inc. re-emerged on the smaller local alarm installing company circuit. Gracer and Mata have since rebuilt the company as you know it today.

We remain proud of the fact that we continue to focus on providing very close personal service to our customers vs. mass marketing and volume sales business plans.

We have rescued many disappointed clients from the national alarm companies that lack a personal connection to their own customer base.
